Business relations between Venezuela and Belarus have nothing in common with money laundering, says the spread on 11 March statement of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The statement is made in the connection with a comment of former Poland’s Ambassador to Belarus Mariusz Maszkiewicz on US sanctions against Belneftekhim concern. In particular, M. Maszkiewicz said the Belarusian authorities were going to use the company as a subsidiary structure for money laundering in Venezuelan oil trade.

“The reason for malevolence of former polish ambassador was sanctions, imposed against the sovereign state for it doesn’t want to be a servant to powers that be, acting by aggression and sanctions, by digging-in on strange territories to encircle Russia, in the heat of passion to its natural resources,” the statement of Venezuela’s embassy runs.

M. Maszkiewicz’s comments, the statement stresses, are “scurrile and irresponsible lie.” The thought of existence of allegedly signed agreements on “sale of Venezuelan oil” has nothing in common with the reality. There are no such agreements,” the document says.
