Regions ready for boycott: “There’s no sense to participate in farce” âàæíàÿ íîâîñòü? 10

A decision on non-participating in the “election” if the authorities ignore the requirements of the democratic forces was taken at a conference of the Homel Region United Civil Party by a unanimous vote.

The case is in including of all candidates of the democratic forces into district electoral commissions and in registration of all candidates for MPs.

“After only two thirds of people from the list of the united democratic forces were included in the district electoral commissions, it was decided at the region UCP conference to outline our requirements. We speak now that all UDF members should be included in the district commissions and all candidates be registered. We bring up this offer for a discussion of the joint coordinative council of the Homel Region. If the authorities ignore the demands, there will be no sense to participate in the farce this autumn,” Vasil Palyakou, head of the UCP regional organisation, commented on the decision.

The regional council plans to conclude how the authorities fulfil the UDC requirements in early August.
