Belarus Ranks 141th in World Ranking of Life Quality

Belarus ranks the 141th place among 192 countries in the international ranking of quality of life.

The experts compiled this rating, assessing the cost of living in the country, the development of culture and education, health care quality, the economy, the environment, the possibility of civil rights' realization, security of life and so on.

According to experts of International Living publication, the indicators of "political" component prevented Belarus to take a higher position in the ranking, reports IA "REGNUM-Belarus."

The level of civil liberties in Belarus was the lowest - just 8 points. Culture and education got 67 points, health care - 74. The overall quality of life in Belarus, according to foreign experts, is equal to that in India, Iran, Uganda, Uzbekistan. Belarus's neighboring countries occupied higher positions: Ukraine - 73th position, Estonia - 32th, Latvia - 33rd, Lithuania - 36th and Russia - 118th place.

As Telegraf previously reported, an annual ranking of economic freedom, compiled by U.S. research center Heritage and the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, was earlier published. According to this ranking, Belarus dropped from the 150th position to the 155th thus sharing position with Maldives and Lesotho. A year earlier, Belarus was among Sao Tome and Principe and Equatorial Guinea by the level of economic freedom.
