The first stage of the industrial base of the future Belarusian nuclear power plant has been put into service.

It has been stated by the chief operating officer of the NPP construction direction Anatoly Bondar on July 19. “This so-called start site together with administrative and amenity building for the first builders and contractors who will work there,” he explained.

As said by Bondar, the industrial base is created with the aim to enable running working conditions for construction of the NPP. Field changes of the so-called pioneer base are carried out on Astravets site as well. They includes inspection of equipment, ensuring construction of housing facilities and infrastructure in Astravets, the expert said. This united industrial base is situated not far from the railway station of Hudahai.

As informed by the first deputy minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Vitaly Kulik, a week ago the Energy Ministry rubberstamped the rationalisation of investments in the NPP construction. The Environmental impact assessment report is a component part of this document, BelaPAN informs.

The next stage after the justification of investments in the NPP construction is design of the building. After authorization of the project the site for the NPP in Astravets is to become a working site.
