Reaction of foreign currency speculators: Dollar rose to 8,500-9,000 rubles

Foreign currency speculators raised exchange rate to 8,500-9,000 rubles per dollar, after the National Bank of Belarus announced its recommendation.

We remind that banks were strongly advised not to sell individuals foreign currency, even that they bought in exchange offices in shopping centres and markets. This measures is supposed to put an end to queues in exchange offices and decrease the acute demand for dollars, “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports.

The exchange rate was 8,100-8,200 rubles per dollar in the morning, but have risen to 8,500-9,000.
