Statkevich cannot receive books in prison

A political prisoner wrote it in a letter to his wife.

Mikalai Statkevich writes he knows that his friends made numerous attempts to send books to him. Unfortunately, he cannot receive them. He asks to send them to his wife so that she could keep them as a sign of solidarity, statkevich.org infroms.

Mikalai Statekvich wrote about physical health and an opportunity to see the sun:

“I forgot to say: I am taken for a walk at 9:30 or sometimes at 10 a.m.

Even on sunny days it can be seen only at noon in late February, because the yards have rather high walls. However, it's enough just to see the light sky.”

Mikalai Statkevich was arrested at a rally against the rigged results of the preinitialises elections on December 19, 2010. More than 700 protesters, including presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov, Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, Ales Mikhalevich and members of their teams, were arrested.

On May 26, 2011, Minsk's Partyzanski district court sentenced the politician to 6 years in a medium security penal colony.
