Aliaksandr Bukhvostau: The state turns workers into slaves (Video)

11

One of the leaders of independent trade unions claims that lack of political freedom in the country affects the Belarusian economy.

Lukashenka commanded that the footwear making enterprises of the country would operate totally to the benefit of the state budget. There is a possibility of nationalization and unification of footwear making enterprises into large holding companies on the horizon.

It became known that the processes of unification will be led by a company where Russian share is 70%, Belsat TV channel reports. Aliaksandr Bukhvostau noted that there is no difference for a Belarusian worker who manages him and exploits his working force. “A capitalist is always the same and has no nationality. A worker depends equally from any of them. It is not what matters”, - the leader of independent trade unions believes.

At the same time Bukhvostau thinks that the political climate, absence of freedom in the country strongly affect the economic situation.

“The political system starts to influence the economy: everything must be controlled. If an entrepreneur is independent and makes profit, than the state does not like it, it starts to intervene, which will only lead to deterioration of the state of Belarusian economy”, - the activist highlighted.

What concerns nationalization, than Bukhvostau is sure that it will not bring any benefits to the workers. “Workers are interested in high salaries and respect towards themselves. Whether a private owner manages them or the state does not make difference to them”, - Bukhvostau noted. He added that with nationalization the state will only put a worker in a slave’s position.
