IIHF may consider Belarusian issue in May

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) holds a congress in Helsinki in late spring.

We remind that information appeared last week the IIHF is to take a decision on holding the 2014 world championship in Minsk at the autumn session in Japan in 2012.

As Radio Svaboda reports with a link to German media, it was a recommendation to consider the issue in May due to harsh criticism of official Minsk by European politicians and public.

We remind that gathering signatures for removing the 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship in Belarus was organized on the internet. Over 3700 people from different countries (Belarus, Poland, Russia, Sweden, the USA, Latvia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and others) put their signatures under the appeal.
