Hyhin: It’s more practical to release political prisoners before parliamentary elections

The statement of the dictator about possibility that political prisoners could be released, has perplexed the official propagandist Vadzim Hyhin (Vadim Gigin). To his mind, to release people from prisons is politically more expedient when the “parliamentary election” is closer.
“In general, I expected that they would not be released earlier than the parliamentary election. If steps are weighed, this is not very expedient probably. As a certain escalation during the parliamentary election would take place, so certain warming and steps to meet each other could be expected after them,” the propaganda man said to Euroradio.
The diplomatic war, Hyhin says, could probably have something to do with the decision to release the political prisoners, but not directly. A usual legal procedure of release is taking place, as said by him: a petition for pardon, checking that it had been written of one’s free will, a session of the pardon commissions and so on. And after the release of the political prisoners the political analyst does not expect any moves in response from the EU.
On the contrary, he says that it was Minsk who had given Brussels a possibility to save face and return its ambassadors to Belarus, using this release. But no political and legal rehabilitation of the released would follow, as Hyhin claims. And the fact that Europe expects that from Belarus is not enough, as the official Minsk does not expect anything from the EU – neither loans, no kisses.
