Minsk police to organize round-up in Minsk

June 15-16, Minsk police will hold an unprecedented range of preventive measures to stabilize the operational environment.

They will engage all the forces of Minsk police as well as soldiers of the military units 5448 and 3310. "Definitely there has never been such large-scale work in the capital!" said Minsk police spokesman, Alexander Lastovski.

Police will be wearing both the uniform and the civilian clothes. The entire police garrison of the capital's special vehicles, as well as "civil enforcement vehicles" will be involved.

Minsk police will patrol the streets in full force in order to identify and punish offenses and crimes. The police are going to thoroughly check the places of mass stay of people (railway stations, bus stations, bus stops, major shopping facilities, entertainment facilities), recreational facilities, as well as to ensure road safety and traffic rules, visit "stash" apartments and previously convicted individuals. Particular attention will be paid to identify and suppress the facts of drinking alcoholic beverages in public places.

"No offense (not to mention the crimes) will be hidden from the attention of law enforcement officers, even in the remotest corners of Minsk," said Alexander Lastovski.
