Lukashenko invited to the Non-Aligned Movement Summit

The dictator invited to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement Summit to be held in August in Tehran.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has invited Aliaksandr Lukashenka to attend a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which is to be held in Tehran in late August.

The invitation was conveyed by Lotfollah Forouzandeh Dehkordi, Iran’s vice president for parliamentary affairs, who met with Uladizmir Makiej, head of Belarusian Presidential Administration on June 14.

Makiej and Dehkordi emphasized the traditionally friendly ties between Belarus and Iran, and discussed the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations in the international arena.

Belarus is the only European country among the 120 members of the Non-Aligned Movement, an association of states that consider themselves not formally aligned with or opposed to any bloc.
