Russia will supply S-300PMU1 to Belarus

Russia will supply 8 sets of anti-aircraft missile systems S-300PMU1 to Belarus.

This was stated to the “Interfax-AVN” by the Major General Dmitry Pahmelkin, the commander of Belarus Air Force and Air Defense.

“The supplies began according to the agreements. We already received four S-300. We supposed to receive the rest in the near time”, - said Pahmelkin.

He noted that “the transfer of systems S-300PMU1, produced by the Air Defence concern “Almaz-Antei”, to Belarus is carried out as a part of the common regional Air Defense of Russia and Belarus”.

As charter97.org informed before, Russia suspended the supply of S-300PMU-2 to Syria.

Sources in Russian military-industrial complex told that shipment of S-300 to Syria had been canceled “on the orders from above”.

The very existence of previously unannounced contract between Russia and Syria is confirmed in the annual report 2011 of “Nizhny Novgorod Machine Building Plant” (a part of the concern “Almaz-Antei”). There, in particular, are registered contracts with Syria and Algeria for the supply of S-300 at the price of 39 and 105 million dollars correspondingly.

The supplies was supposed to be finished in the late 2012 – early 2013.

The shipment of three divisions S-300 to Algeria, according to the representative of “Rosoboronexport”, already took place.

A number of western countries, including the EU countries and the USA, are against the supply of arms to Syria, where the civil war is taking place. In 2010 Russia has canceled a contract to supply S-300PMU2 to Iran.

According to the information of mass-media and international organizations, the supplies of arms to the rogue states are carried out through Belarus.
