Updates of the website: voting for comments and statistics
12:00, — hi-tech
A new option appeared on our website several weeks ago.
Now any visitor can not only leave his comment to the news but also evaluate opinions of others participants of the discussion.
It’s not a secret that the most of the readers do not participate in the discussion for several reasons but read comments with interest. This is confirmed by the website’s statistics: often the most popular are the pages with discussions, when the number of comments can exceed several thousand. And there are much more visitors of the comment page, than of the news page.
In order to attract such visitors to the participation in the discussion and to give the opportunity to the authors of the comments to feel, if their opinion is interesting to the other visitors of the website, we have developed a voting system for the comments, with the help of which every user can positively or negatively evaluate visitors’ messages.
In order to vote, you need to press + or – in the gray block with the name of the author of the comment. The panel is in the right part of this block.
System is indicative and do not pretend to be objective, so we ask all participants of the discussions not to be too serious about the results of voting. This is just an attempt to give our reader a suitable tool for a quick acquaintance with the most interesting statements.
Please note, that a visitor can vote only once for each comment. In case if comment receives more than 10 negative votes, it is “extinguished” with the grey color, but still remains on the website. If a comment receives more than 50 positive votes, a yellow icon with a white star appears to its left. These numbers we consider acceptable on this stage, in the future they may be reconsidered.
We would like to notice the amateurs of cheating that we have the right to delete either the results of artificial voting or the comment itself. However, we will be grateful for the artificial increase of attendance at our website :)
By the way, now you can look the statistics for the previous day in the right column under the calendar. These are the data of the statistic system Google Analytics. You can learn how many unique visitors visited our and your website yesterday, how many pages were looked through by visitors, and how many times visitors entered the website. Even in the vocational season the website is visited by, approx., 100 thousand unique visitors per day. Each of them, on the average, looks through about 10 pages and visits the website twice a day. More than 80% of the visitors are Belarusian.
