Anton Surapin announced prisoner of conscience

The international human rights organization Amnesty International has distributed the information on July 25.

Human rights defenders demand to release Anton Surapin and Syarhei Basharymau as soon as possible and to lift all the charges, reports Radio Liberty.

Anton Surapin was detained by KGB on July 13. He is suspected of assistance in a case of illegal crossing of the Belarusian border by a group of people. The journalist was the first person to have published the photos of Swedish teddy bears. Surapin's 10-day term of detention was over on July 23. However, the guy has not been accused of anything so far. He is still in KGB prison.
