The army found who is to blame for allowing a Swedish aircraft to cross the Belarusian border.
Military unit 25887 is responsible for detecting low-flying targets and defencing the air border in the region where the Swedish pilot crossed the Lithuanian-Belarusian border).
As nash-dom.info website learned from a source in the army, an inquiry was launched in the military unit after first news about the incident had appeared in the media.
About 50 persons on duty conduct visual monitoring in the woods near the town of Smarhon. As it was figured out, the stations did not have the necessary equipment: soldiers did not have even binocular glasses. The soldiers who were on duty when the Swedish plane overflew the border can face military tribunal. The inquiry is carried out by the KGB and military prosecutors. All soldiers write explanatory notes.
As charter97.org website reported, a Swedish small aircraft released teddy bears with leaflets with democratic slogans on early morning on July 4. The Ministry of Defence of Belarus reported there were no intrusions into Belarus's airspace and said the video on the Internet disproving their version was a hoax.
