The receive of newspaper correspondence in detention center in Mogilev was limited to Ex-presidency candidate Nikolai Statkevich.
This was reported to BelaPAN by the wife of the politician Marina Adamovich.
According to Statkevich’s spouse, she received a response from the Mogilev prosecutor's office and the administration of the Mogilev detention center to her complaints that Statkevich does not receive correspondence regularly. “It is written in the response that from July, Statkevich can receive only those editions that he will personally subscribe to. All the newspapers sent by his friends or relatives will not reach him. Besides, the same rules were applied to his cellmate Vasiliev”, - said Adamovich.
She also informed that on July 4 she had a phone conversation with Statkevich. “Nikolai said that despite the previous decision to place him in an isolator for 10 days he wasn’t placed there. Statkevich believes that this happened because there is a large queue to it”, - stated Adamovich.
Beside this she received a letter from Statkevich on July 6. “He writes: “These 10 days seem to me a revenge for some foiled plan regarding me. Which one – one can only guess. If to remain silent, then there will be even more” drastic “plans”, - said politician’s wife.
