A story about a regional traffic police captain who robbed the truck

The Policeman said that the documents for the cargo are "wrong" and took almost all money from the driver.

A reader, who works a truck courier, addressed to the Editor's office of charter97.org. When he was transporting home appliances with necessary documents from Minsk to Gomel, he was stopped by a policeman. Policeman said that the documents are, allegedly, wrong and not just demanded a bribe but took all the driver's money. As it turned out, the documents were all right.

"I work in one of the online stores in Minsk as a courier with a private truck. On weekdays, we deliver goods to the capital, taking it from the suppliers, and on weekends I drive to the Gomel region, because I am myself from Gomel. This Saturday, on August 18, I, as usual, was carrying home appliances to my hometown. I had documents on hand - the fourth exemplar ("fourth copy") of the invoice for equipment needed for the carrier of goods", - says the courier.

"At about 10 a.m. on the road in the Minsk region, at 15-20 kilometers from the town of Sosnovy, a traffic cop of retirement or pre-retirement age stopped me. With the rank of captain, with a mustache and red, as in alcoholics, impudent face. On a modern car "Opel Vectra". He asked: "What are you taking?" To which I replied, quite honestly, not expecting anything bad - I'm taking home appliances. "Do you have documents?" Yes, I say. "Show me. Now". I Took out the invoice. "Where is the first exemplar?" Well, I said, I don't have any. "All right, son, you've got an hour, tto sow me the first copy of the invoice", - he said. And then he took my documents. I called the director, explaining the situation. He sent a courier to me with the first exemplar of the documents", - said the driver.

"And then the fun began. After I said the captain that documents are under way, he became furious. "I'm not going to wait for your bills! You have 10 minutes to solve the problem! Otherwise, I personally will find two witnesses, and you will sign a paper that you drive with no documents at all!" I called the director one more time. He said that they do not need problems; if he asks money - give him money", - says the employee of the internet-shop.

"I went up to the captain and told - the director hopes to solve the problem on the spot. Policeman put me in the car to his colleague, also the captain, but the young and the fat one. He also looked documents through, and a few minutes later the captain, who was older, he called me on the street. Led to my car. "So what?" I repeated - the director asked to deal in place. "How much?" I say - maybe 500000? (Such summ wished the director). And in response, with a breaking voice, the traffic cop yelled "Whaaat!? Right here and right now I'll draw you a fine on on 50 millions!" I explained that I don't have enough money with me. Policeman said, "Let's go back to your car". I sat in the driver's seat, and he stood at the opened passenger door. I took the bag with the money and started to count it. Then the captain asked, "How much do you have there?" I did not even have time to answer, when he demanded - "Give me that!" and took the money. He counted out 200 thousand banknotes and,  disdainfully, tossed a single 100 thousand banknote into the passenger seat", - is outraged courier.

"I tell you, I was in Russia, I've seen all, but such a racket in uniform is unbelievable. I'm still in shock. The cop did not care that I was talking about the bribe on phone. Most likely, he is the head of a departmeant, one in its territory, and is not afraid of anyone", - suggests the employee of the shop.

"In the end it turned out that I was just fooled, and deliberately - the carrier has to have only the 4th copy of the invoice. The 1st one is for the recipient of goods (you can send it to the recipient by mail, the driver does not have to take it with him). The 2nd copy is for the firm. The third - for the warehouse of the sender, and here is the 4th, needed for the carrier. There are large numbers, written on the invoice, they confirm the legitimacy of transport of the goods", - says the driver.
