Stop-Tax action’s participants summoned by road police

Road policemen got interested in Minsk residents, who were in Niezalezhnasci Avenue on Friday 20 December.

One of the readers reported about that to charter97.org.

“They started calling us, the participants, on the phone and summon to Dzershinkogo 3”, - he wrote. This is the address of Minsk’s road police department. Nothing is yet known of the consequences of the summons.

The actions Stop-Tax against the introduction of a duty on cars took place on 20 December in many cities of Belarus. In Minsk it was the largest in numbers. Car drivers of the capital blocked the traffic in Niezalezhnasci Avenue for almost an hour. The action was supported by hundreds of pedestrians.

Several people were detained in the course of the event – drivers as well as passersby. Yesterday they were tried in court. The people were sentenced fines and administrative arrests for 5 to 12 days.
