Summons to police instead of meeting with official

Police and prosecution officers were set on a lawyer for an attempt to talk to the head of Lukashenka's administration during reception hours.

Tamara Syarhei was summoned to the main police department of Minsk on February 4. She tells charter97.org about the incident.

Aleh Zoshchyk, a senior inspector of the police department, said they had a request from the prosecutor general's office asking to figure out details about my visit to Lukashenka's administration on December 20, 2012. He refused to show me the request saying it was a restricted document. The inspector didn't answer my questions about the offences I had allegedly committed and facts to prove it,” Tamara Syarhei said.

The lawyer declined to give any comments to the police officer and filed a complaint to the chief of Minsk's main police department about pressure on her by the prosecutor general's office.

“I really was in Lukashenka's administration on December 20, 2012. Administration head Andrei Kabyakou had reception hours for public. I was not allowed to see him, though I had submitted an application. I think the administration is dangerous for people. Instead of solving acute problems of society, official scare people and set police and prosecution officers on them,” Tamara Syarhei said.
