Chavez Street will appear in Kamennaja Horka

Such an initiative was suggested by the chairman of Minsk city executive committee Mikalai Ladutska.

According to Mikalai Ladutska, such a decision would be right, considering “how much the president of Venezuela did for the Belarusian nation”, - BelTA reports.

The chairman of Minsk city executive committee thinks that one of the streets of Kamennaja Horka neighborhood in Minsk could bear the name of the Venezuelan leader. As he noted, “the high guest visited the new-built house in Kazimirauskaja street number 31 during one of his visits”.

“The neighborhood is being developed, not all the streets here have acquired names yet, and it would be humanly and historically right to give this great man’s name to one of them. But it is just my point of view, the decision is to be taken by the city council of deputies”, - Mikalai Ladutska noted.

He left an entry in the condolences book  today, which was started in the Venezuelan embassy in Minsk due to Hugo Chavez’s death.

Hugo Chavez passed away on 5 March at the age of 59. The funeral of the Venezuelan leader are supposed to take place on 8 March.
