Results of Siamashka's visit: No MAZ, no oil

No agreements were reached on Russian oil supplies to Belarus.

Belarusian deputy PM Uladzimir Siamashka spoke to journalists after his visit to Moscow, Interfax news agency reports.

“There are preconditions that the oil agreement for the third and fourth quarters of the year will be signed soon. We count on 23 million tonnes per year,” he said. The deputy PM stressed he expected the agreement to be signed in the nearest time.

Uladzimir Siamashka said Belarus and Russia would prepare draft documents relating to management of Rosbelavto holding company.

“We discussed the conception [of MAZ-KAMAZ alliance] with Dvorkovich and agreed that the draft articles of association and the draft trust agreement would be ready within a month. In other words, we will set tasks and decide how the company will operate,” Siamashka said.

It should be noted that Uladzimir Siamashka and Arkady Dvorkovich have had several meetings this year. They discussed supplies of Russian energy to Belarus and privatisation of Belarusian enterprises, on which Moscow insists.

The prime ministers of the two countries are expected to meet in the Russian capital on May 21. According to the Russian government's press service, Mikhail Miasnikovich and Dmitry Medvedev will discuss important issues of the Russian-Belarusian cooperation in the spheres of trade, investments and energy.
