A picket of solidarity with Belarusian civil society was held in Kyiv.

Activists of the Solidarity Movement Razam (Together) held a number of pickets in Kyiv on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with Belarusian civil society. Charter97.org has learnt it from organisers.

A big white-red-white flag was hung out of the window of the Solidarity Movement Razam headquarters in Mazepa Street at 9 in the morning. A picket in front of the Belarusian embassy began at 12:00. It began with a moment of silence to pay tribute to the memory of Ukrainian soldiers, who died for Ukraine, Belarus and entire Europe struggling against Russian imperialism, according to organisers.

Representatives of the Solidarity Movement Razam Viachaslau Siuchyk, Halina Sarochyk, Aleh Ausianik, representative of Belarusian anarchists Aliaksandr Andrushkevich, famous Ukrainian poet Oles Irvanets, head of the civil initiative Luhansk Serhiy Bondarenko took part in the picket.

The picketers called to release political prisoners Ihar Alinevich, Yauhen Vaskovich, Mikalai Dziadok, Eduard Lobau, Artsiom Prakapenka, Vasil Parfiankou and Mikalai Statkevich as well as deputy head of the Solidarity Movement Razam Ales Makayeu and activist Illia Dabratvor, who were illegally taken into custody for national symbols.

The picketers chanted “Freedom for political prisoners!”, “Glory to Ukraine, glory to heroes!” and names of the political prisoners.

A Lukashenka dummy with labels on his chest “D**khead's [Putin's] sycophant” and “For betrayal of national interests and committing crimes” was installed. The dummy was decapitated after the picket.
