Lukashenka: Pension age should have been increased yesterday

Lukashenka believes that the pension age in the country should have been increased long ago.

He said so at the press-conference in Minsk on Friday, “Interfax” reports.

“The pension age in Belarus should have been increased yesterday. But it was not increased, as you do not want that. But then you should understand that pensions are to be smaller than in case of the pension age’s increase by 5 years,” Lukashenka said.

As said by him, “we and Russia are the only countries left, which had not increased pension age.” At the same time, the ruler stressed that it is not right when 1.5 persons support one. “It is not right, it’s economically dangerous, and the pension age should be risen, but people do not want that. So we do not increase it,” the dictator said.

“If you want a higher pension, we are going to increase it, depending on the economy, but there is no spare money. The second way is the pension age increase,” Lukashenka summarized.
