Ewa Kopacz: Poland can expel Russian diplomats as soon as today

Poland can deport Russian diplomats in connection with a spying row between the countries.

As UNIAN reports, the statement was made by Polish PM Ewa Kopacz on air of TVP2 channel.

According to her, the deportation of diplomats was a “common practice” in similar situations. The decision can be made today. There's no information about the number of the diplomats to be expelled.

The Polish media said last week that a high-ranking official of the Polish Ministry of Defence and a lawyer with Polish-Russian citizenship, who planned to become a Sejm member, were arrested on suspicion of spying for Russia.

According to some reports amid the spying row, Poland may deport Russian citizens working in Poland and Russian journalists in addition to Russian diplomats.
