Dinamo Minsk edge Admiral 1-0

Dinamo Minsk edge Admiral 1-0

Lars Haugen made 29 saves to earn his first shutout of the season and lead Dinamo Minsk to a 1-0 win over visiting Admiral Vladivostok on 29 October.

It was the Bisons' fifth win in row.

Ryan Vesce scored the only and deciding goal late in the final period.

The hosts showed some hectic hockey in the opening stanza, making mistakes and earning penalties, none of which however were converted into the goals despite hard efforts by the visiting team. After the break the Bisons came out to the ice more determined to show a good play. They had some great chances to score but the puck did not go into the net.

Minsk forward Artyom Demkov got an injury after being boarded by Admiral's Alexander Nesterov early in the second. Artyom Demkov had to leave the ice. So did the Vladivostok forward after taking a match penalty.

A tight-checking hockey continued in the final period. With five minutes left to play in regulation Ryan Vesce scored his fifth of the season. The guests pulled their goalie for an extra attacker in an attempt to return in the game. Lars Haugen did his best to keep everything going his way out of the net.

With 40 points after 21 games Dinamo Minsk stays 6th in the West.

The Bisons next play Sibir Novosibirsk on 1 November. The Belarusian team will wrap up their four-game homestand with a match against Metallurg Novokuznetsk on 2 November.
