Lukashenka is another Girkin

Mr Lukashenka is really afraid for his security.

According to information received from the sources in Minsk, his son Viktor, who is in charge of power ministries, chooses the best law-enforcement and special services’ officers. All of them are directed to the Security Service of the president.

Lukashenka does not trust even to the KGB any more. And I understand him. During my stay in the prison of this agency, I turned attention to the fact that most Belarusian KGB servicemen, from a colonel to a lieutenant, are pro-Russian to the marrow of their bones. They feel contempt to the Belarusian history, culture and language, they to not respect our national identity, and all roads lead to Moscow for them.

By the way, many heads of ministries, special services and power ministries of Belarus live in Russia after their dismissal. And I am sure that their testimony about all shady dealings and crimes committed by Lukashenka, had been carefully written down by FSB (the Federal Security Service of Russia) officers, and are waiting for the right moment. And the former members of bureaucratic elite themselves will gladly return to Belarus in the status of Russian president’s governors.

Putin’s Russia, which has unleashed the war in Ukraine, and undoubtedly preparing further offensive, is not able to cover expenses of the Belarusian regime. Huge economic losses due to surge in oil prices and necessity to increase military expenses, make it impossible at the moment to subsidize the satellite states as before.

No one is going to let Belarus outside the sphere of influence certainly. But Russia is simply unable to support the pro-Russian Lukashenka’s regime by enormous financial infusions, as today its summary losses caused by Western sanctions and exodus of capital are equal to hundreds of billions dollars.

Russia is actively cutting expenses on social programs, diverting money from pension funds to military purposes, freezing construction of residential houses and roads.

The Belarusian dictator, with his hysterics, freaking out, rushing about, verbal diarrhea and not keeping his word after signing the Eurasian Union Treaty, could be consigned to the rubbish bin of history by the Russian leadership.

Lukashenka has found himself in a dead-end – no matter what he is going to do, it will deteriorate the situation. If he starts shouting about his independence from the Kremlin, there is a risk not to wake up in the morning. If he surrenders to Putin completely, everything is to be lost as well. Vladimir Putin has a different appetite now. He does not need simply allies, it is not enough for him to place Russian troops on the Belarusian territory. He is “a collector of lands” now, and he is going to speak to his vassals exclusively in the form of imperatives.

One may question all opinion polls held in Belarus, but the tendency is obvious – most Belarusians are brainwashed by the Russian propaganda, which is ever-present nowadays. And if there will be a change of power tomorrow, the majority would not stand to defend the homebrew tyrant.

This situation had been created by Lukashenka himself. All these years he had been gradually eradicating the patriotic opposition, the Belarusian culture, language and education, closing independent mass media, which had been always defending not only the interests of democracy, but also sovereignty. He personally destroyed the sense of dignity in Belarusians, and “tribeless” people without the past and the sense of their ancestors do not care which banners to join.

For example, let’s recall the comic situation when Lukashenka changed the word “patriotic” in the name of his pocket youth organisation, the Belarusian Patriotic Youth Union, to the word “Republican”. Here you are, now you can receive the republic without patriots.

Who will defend Lukashenka in the situation which is critical to him? Will it be Myasnikovich, who had been a servant of all tsars, or Prakapovichm Syamashka and Snapkou, and other bureaucrats’ faceless cohort, who had lost their honour and made themselves cheap after endless humiliations? Or will his loyal associate and accomplice Shejman defend him? I’m afraid, the only thing he could do is to shoot dead out of mercy.

One hope is left, it’s pinned on the eldest son, Viktor, but unlike his father, addicted to power, he has some things to lose. His capital and personal security will be more important to him on the evil day. It’s enough to recall how “reasonably” Ramzan Kadyrov behaved after the unexpected death of his father. And all those dashing guys from the Security Service could fit to the role of Semenovsky and Preobrazhensky Life-Guards regiments, who choked to death more than one tsar.

The stupidity of Belarusian authorities is boundless. The official media happily announce that Russia will leave all duties from selling processed Russia oil to the Belarusian regime. Lukashenka has decided to play an all-or-nothing game and presented Putin with an ultimatum, oil money or the Eurasian Union.

One can imagine Putin’s rage, as the Eurasian Union, a kind of a revival of the Russian Empire, is a lifetime project for him. And all of a sudden some Minsk “girkin-strelkov” starts blackmailing him.

Lukashenka has not understood that for Putin he is already the same front person, a dummy, as “presidents” and “Prime Ministers” of Chechnya, the LNR, DNR, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transdniester, whose fate and life are determined by the Kremlin exclusively.

Will the shift of a dictator mean the loss of independence for Belarus? No. But it will be a completely different story.
