Lech Walesa: Putin’s huge mistake should be made use of

Putin’s mistake is refusal to use lawful ways in battle for Ukraine.

A world-known symbol of democracy, a prominent dissenter, a Nobel prize winner, the first president of Poland Lech Walesa says that 20 years ago he had been talking about the threat from Russia. He is convinced that the struggle for freedom is still continued up till now. The politician wishes Ukrainians a victory, and in a certain sense he is even content that in his attempt to bring Ukraine under control Putin had taken the undemocratic path, and used brutal force, ICTV informs.

“Putin had a chance to bring pro-Russian forces into the parliament, and in this way win the battle for Ukraine, and we would be powerless in this case. However he has made a huge mistake, and it is a good chance for us. So we should use Putin’s mistake and build a free Ukraine, and not only Ukraine,” Lech Walesa said.

He claims that Ukraine should assert its right for protection under Budapest Memorandum, be calm, but at the same time be more determined. The whole world is against Russia, and the Ukrainian revolution of dignity is to defeat the imperialistic demon eventually.

“The situation depends on brainpower of Ukrainians, and that is why I do not have doubts that Ukraine will win freedom. But it depends on the price which is to be paid, and time,” he noted.
