Polish Sejm supports ratification of Ukraine-EU agreement

Voting is scheduled for November 28.

Members of the Polish Sejm had a debate on Wednesday over the bill on the ratification of the Agreement of Association between the EU and Ukraine. All parliament groups supported the ratification of the association deal, Polskie Radio reports.

Robert Tyszkiewicz, the head of the foreign affairs committee, notes that unanimity of Polish politicians shows that the Ukrainian issue is at the level of Poland's state interests.

All parliamentary groups agreed to support the bill, in which the Sejm allows the president of Poland to ratify the Agreement of Association between the EU and Ukraine.

Tyszkiewicz noted that “the unanimous ratification is a sign of our deep conviction that the Association Agreement is a decisive step towards the full integration of Ukraine into the European structures.”

The parliament is expected to vote on the bill on Friday, November 28.
