“Chamber of representatives” prepares to increase motor vehicle duty

It is informed how high auto duties are to become for drivers.

It is planned to increase motor vehicle state duty in Belarus. It is envisaged by the amendments to the tax Code, BelTA informs.

It is planned to increase the state duty for owners of passenger cars by one basic unit on average (1 basic unit is equal to Br150,000 now). Thus, a passenger car with a weight more than 1.5 tons, but less than 2 tons, one would have to pay 6 basic units, not 5 as now. For a car with a weight more than 2 tons, but no more than 3 tons – 8 basic units instead of 7 paid now, with a weight of more than 3 tons – 11 basic units (10 basic units now). It is also planned to raise a state duty for trailers, trucks and so on.

As for organisations, according to the draft law, next year one would have to pay 2 basic units more for a permit to drive.

Besides, the draft law also includes reduction of the state duty on motor vehicles for pensioners, disabled persons of the first and second categories, when they have a medical certificate confirming they are allowed to drive (with the exception of the cases in which a person is completely excused from paying a state duty for a permit to drive). The state duty is paid by them with a reduced rate(an index of 0.5).

In the nearest future “deputies” are going to review a draft law in its first reading.
