Family visits political prisoner Prakapaneka in jail

Atsiom Prakapenka was allowed meeting with his family.

Charter97.org has learnt it from his father Anatoly Prakapenka.

“We'll have a long-term meeting in June. The exact date will be known at the beginning of summer. We usually spoke with Artsiom on the phone. He calls every second week,” he said.

The political prisoner's father says he son had a cold, but he is okay now.

“He used to work constantly, but now they don't have much work. He does sport or reads books instead,” Anatoly Prakapenka added.

Artsiom Prakapenka was tried together with Yauhen Vaskovich and Pavel Syramolatau. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison for an attempt to set the doors of the KGB office in Babruisk on fire. Syramolatau was pardoned by Lukashenka in September 2012. Prakapenka and Vaskovich refuse to apply for clemency.
