NATO deploys ships and troops to borders of Russia

The Alliance is set to firm up air policing of the Baltic Sea.

It has been stated by the Secretary General of the NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

The organisation is also set to send its warships to the Baltic Sea and Eastern Mediterranean. Anders Fogh Rasmussen has also added that he finds it the political way of resolving the crisis in Ukraine the only possible way, and called upon Russia to join it, Interfax reports.

“We have just taken further measures to respond to the crisis in Ukraine. We agree that a political solution is the only way forward,” he said. “We call on Russia to be part of the solution. To stop destabilising Ukraine, pull back its troops from the borders and make clear it doesn't support the violent actions of well-armed militias of pro-Russian separatists.”

We remind that earlier it was reported that the US and Canada deploy their troops to Europe in order to enhance security of their allies.
