Private medical centres forbidden to issue sick notes

The authorities refused to give private medical centres the right to issue sick notes.

It is said in the notice on implementing the events of the National Business Platform of Belarus. The notice was considered at a meeting of the presidium of the government on June 3.

“On the order of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of January 9,2014 No. 38/204-390, the issue, which was provided for by clause 17 of the Package of measures to achieve the development plan for small and medium business in regions and Minsk for 2013-2015, has been removed. In particular, the Council agreed with the position of the Ministry of Healthcare on the inexpediency of giving the right to issue sick notes to non-state medical facilities, taking into account the possible changes in the approaches of paying citizens temporarily disability allowance from the funds of the State Social Insurance Agency (the size of allowence, the order of issueing, etc),” the document says.

On the instruction of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Economy was informed about the opinion of the Ministry of Healthcare and the relative state bodies that it is premature to give the medical facilities rendering medical services on a paid basis regardless of the type of ownership the right to issue sick notes on the ground of the certification of the Ministry of Healthcare.
