Russian court refused to set pilot Savchenko free on bail

Voronezh regional court has dismissed the complaint of lawyers against extension of the term of arrest to the abducted Ukrainian pilot and refused to release her on bail.

Such a report has been made by ITAR-TASS.

The court has agreed with the arguments of the investigators that in case Savchenko would be released on $1 mln bail, as offered by her lawyers, she might flee and not appear in the court, where the hearing of a case on the merits is to take place.

It has happened despite of the fact that Savchenko’s lawyers have successfully insisted on examination during the hearing of the written evidence of the prosecution, which according to them prove that there is no evidence that she had been involved in the death of the Russian journalists.
