Policemen stole laptop and memory sticks of Hrodna-based activist

The activist detained for leaflets “Return Crimea to Ukraine” is trying to get back her things.

A public activist from Hrodna Volha Krapotsina has sent an application addressed to the chief of the district Department of Internal Affairs of Leninski district Vasily Najdzenka. She asks to return the things which had been illegally seized by policemen in her room in the hostel: a laptop and two memory sticks. Krapotsina stresses that she warned the policemen, that those things didn’t belong to her, but to her roommate, and also she says that the policemen took those things without leaving any documents, and the legal reasons for that are unknown, “Viasna” human rights centre informs.

We remind that on September 19 in the evening Volha Krapotsina was detained with leaflets “Return Crimea to Ukraine”, and after that she was taken to a police department, and later the premises where she lives were examined. Krapotsina was detained by a person in mufti, who had not shown his credentials or given his name. Only after that he called for policemen in uniform, and he accompanied her to the police department.
