Platini refused to talk to Belarusian journalists

The UEFA president, who stopped in Minsk on the way to Moscow on January 19, refused to talk to the Belarusian press.

Michel Platini met with Aliaksnadr Lukashenka and visited the Belarusian Football Federation and the football arena where the junior Development Cup is taking place. He watched the first half of the game Belarus vs the Czech Republic and left the event with chairman of the Belarusian Football Federation Siarhei Rumas and deputy chairman Siarhei Safaryan. Platini walked by a group of journalists waiting for him. A BelaPAN correspondent asked him to answer some questions, but he only raised his hand with a refusal gesture near the car.

Platini arrived on a private jet that landed at airport 2 instead of airport 1 due to the fog. He noted at the meeting with Lukashenka that he knew how much attention was paid to football in Belarus. “We are closely following the Belarusian team and believe that in the future Belarus can achieve better results,” he said.
