US general: It is a disgrace that we do not assist Ukraine with weapons

It is urgent to stop Russia's aggression by introducing new, more stringent sanctions, as well as to accumulate support to military Ukraine.

Otherwise, the Baltic States of NATO will be the next to suffer. This statement was made by General John Keane who previously held senior positions in the United States Army, "Press of Ukraine" reports.

"Recent Russia's behavior suggests that its 2008 military campaign in Georgia was not an aberration, but rather initial effort to overturn prevailing regional order", General said during the hearing.

He also noted that Moscow did make it clear then that it did not accept the political map of post-Cold War Europe.

Keane stressed that the USA needed to realistically conclude: "Moscow is ready to challenge the very existence of NATO".

He stressed the following: "Given the dramatic drop in oil prices, Russia is beginning to suffer economically and, it is likely, heading towards recession, if it's not already there. Additional tough sanctions should be back on the table to force Russia to stop Ukraine agression."

General called the US to help Ukraine in armament. "It is a disgrace that once again we have refused to assist to people being oppressed when all they ask for is the weapons to fight", he stressed.
