Dinamo Minsk edged at Magnitogorsk

Dinamo Minsk were back in action on 28 January following the KHL's All-Star Weekend.

Their visit to Magnitogorsk was unlucky, though, as the Bisons fell 3-2 to the local team.

Paul Szczechura put the visiting team in front in the fourth minute just to see Metallurg tying up late in the opening stanza.

Oskar Osala's penalty shot midway through the second period made it 2-1 for the hosts.

Tim Stapleton's timely redirection in the crease extended Magnitka's advantage to 3-1.

Matt Ellison narrowed the gap with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. The Bisons, however, failed to catch up as they could not score with the extra attacker after lifting goaltender Dmitry Milchakov. Dinamo Minsk lost the second of their five-game trip.

With 87 points after 49 games Dinamo Minsk remain fifth in the West. The Bisons next play Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on 30 January and make a stop at Ak Bars Kazan on 1 February to wrap up their regular road series.
