Ihar Alinevich: The sea of troubles waits for us, but it is worth it

Political prisoner sees some advantages in a current situation in the country.

Valiantsina Alinevich, the mother of the sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment Ihar Alinevich, told charter97.org that together with her husband they got a welcome greeting from their son. According to her, on December 27 he was already allowed to take a phone call and yesterday they received his letter.

“It is hard to make a wish for 2015. It seems like the sea of troubles is waiting for us. But the major thing is to find positive aspects in every situation. There is one, at least: it is going to be interesting. I think the current situation is entertaining as it’s a good way of getting some positive emotions. Everything depends on our perception (I experienced it firsthand).

A woman from Russia, a dissident in the 80s, wrote me that at the meetings they used to toast “On behalf of our forlorn hope”. If we can feel self-irony, hope will be kept alive. I wish you to be positive and full of enthusiasm, to succeed and feel joy against all odds! You are in my heart. Come on!…” he wrote his parents.

It should be reminded that the activist of the anarchy movement Ihar Alinevich was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment on charge of violence towards official buildings. He did not find himself guilty. Before, he served his term in Navapolatsk colony, which was the worst on incarceration conditions. However, at the beginning of the last year it was decided to disband it and Alinevich was placed in the colony Vitsba-3.
