Low Salaries Getting Lower

7

Average salaries have decreased in Belarus.

In dollar terms it has been happening for the fourth months already, and for the first time it happens in a ruble term. Belsat says an average net salary is little less than Br6 millions, Nasha Niva reports.

A Belarusian's wage is equivalent to $340. In contrast, a month before previous presidential elections it was equal to $410.

In 2010 welfare of Belarusians was even higher than that of some countries joined the European Union. Now, after the devaluation, Belarus takes the third place from the end in the rate of the lowest salaries in Europe. Only Ukraine and Moldova are "more successful".
