College Professor Reports to Commission about Shepherding Two Groups to “Elections”

A professor of Homel Polytechnic College cheerfully reported to members of the precinct commission that she had taken her students with her to vote.

An observer, a member of the United Civil Party Alyaksandr Herd was a witness how a master of vocational training from Homel Polytechnic College Alla Shpadaruk took two groups of students of the college with her, elections2015.spring96.org writes.

It should be noted that the polling station №12 of Tsentralny district of Homel is situated in the building of Public Cultural Centre. The precinct commission is headed by the director of the Polytechnic College Alyaksandr Savitski. “At 11.25a woman came to the polling station. She cheerfully reported to members of the precinct commission that she had taken students of the college with her, and namely two groups – F-31SK and EO-31. The woman herself turned out to be a master of vocational training from Homel Polytechnic College, and she was not a voter from that precinct. To bring students in organised groups to cast a vote is a direct violation of the law,” Alyaksandr Herd commented on the situation.

As far as he knows, as of 1.30 p.m. October 6, 126 persons had already voted at the polling station №12. They were mostly students of that college. There were only 5 – 7 pensioners among them. There are more than 1900 voters in this precinct.

The numbers of the early vote participants at other polling stations are less significant. For example the polling station №10 of Tsentralny district is monitored by Alyaksandr Sharypau, a coordinator of “Right for Choice” campaign. As said by him, from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. 19 persons had cast their votes at the polling station, mostly pensioners. The polling station №10, situated in the building of the school №24 is notable as there is a transparent ballot-box there.
