Leanid Zaika: Reforms For Lukashenka Are Political Suicide

The head of the analytical center “Strategy” Leanid Zaika notes that when the Belarusian “authorities” need cash, they cease to reject Western ideas.

However, the expert believes, the government will not implement the proposals of the IMF.

— For Lukashenka any motions toward reforms are a political suicide. In this case he needs to encourage the growth of rents, unemployment, division of property, — the economist says.

He stresses that Belarus has not succeeded much in the years of Lukashenka's rule. And now, according to the analyst, the country is at a standstill.

— Only old ladies think that we are fine. And young people go abroad, - Leanid Zaika says.
