“Lukashenka? You Can Remain Seated”

The Ukrainian serial “Public Servant” has made fun of Putin and Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

The film, made by Kvartal 95 studio, tells what happens when the head of the country becomes a common citizen of the society. A history teacher Vasily Goloborodko, who is the principal character of the series, becomes the president of Ukraine, according to the film script.

The fourth series, released in November, contains an episode dedicated to the preparation for the inauguration and a state reception for foreign heads of states – Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Vladimir Putin and Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

The President of Russia and Nicolas Sarkozy together enter Vasily Goloborodko’s ofice. In response to a comment that Francois Hollande is the head of France long ago, the organizer of the ceremony kicks out the two guests, explaining that “that was an old script.”

When Aliaksandr Lukashenka appears, the “president” is trying to get out of the chair, just as when other leaders of states enter. His assistant observes: “You may remain seated,” and chairs Vasily Goloborodko down. Nobody pays any attention to the Belarusian dictator.
