Belarus Refused To Deliver Berkut Officer To Ukraine

18 former members of Berkut riot police are wanted on charges of crimes against Euromaidan.

Two of them are in Poland, one in Belarus, and they are not returned to Ukraine still. It has been said by the head of the National Statehood Defence Department of the SBU Anatoly Dublik, Ukrainskaya Pravda reports.

“The SBU is in charge of their search. We are searching for 18 persons. Two of them are in Poland, one in Belarus, 5 in Crimea, 7 in the so-called DNR/LNR, others are at the territory of the Russian Federation,” – Dublik said.

As said by him, it is impossible to return these Berkut riot policemen even from Poland and Belarus, as they are not searched for criminal offence because of a denial by Interpol.

However, Dublik said that appropriate motions had been sent to Poland and Belarus.

“We have lodged appropriate motions, but they are not on the wanted list, as we were denied that according to the article that it is a politically motivated persecution. We have been denied to register them by Interpol, – he said. – We are trying to do that (return them to Ukraine) according to the agreement. Now we are waiting for an answer.”
