Yury Belenki: Nation Feels Like Fighting

People join the Belarusian movement in different ways and even through things around us.

There is a question, Belsat journalists believe, whether it is a mainstream with no change of worldview: put on embroidered shirt and pasted up a sticker. Is this all?

A public activist Ales Taustyka assumes that Belarusian embroidered shirt testifies that a person wants to make up his mind.

"People, perhaps, are afraid of using national symbols, because they could even be killed or his auto may be broken. Then he uses other symbols that is not prohibited. They existed from olden times," Taustyka noted.

Deputy Chairman of the BPF Yury Belenki stressed that Belarusians were still on the way to their national image. "Nation feels that it is necessary to fight for our Pahonia, our national symbols and national identity," he said.

Philosopher and journalist Uladzimir Padhol says that Orthodox priests tell that ancient icons depicted Christ with white-red-white flag.

"White colour means purity of Christ's soul, and the red one means blood shed for people's sins, Padhol mentions. - Christ sent out the merchants from the temple. And are we selling our souls?"
