Four Oppositional Organisations Create Centre-Right Coalition In Belarus

The new coalition is going to participate in the parliamentary elections in Belarus.

The coalition is to include: For Freedom movement, the United Civil Party (UCP), the organizing committee for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democratic Party (BCD) and the Belarusian Popular Front Party.

As BelaPAN has learnt, during their visit to Brussels representatives of these organisations signed a declaration for creation of the centre-right bloc. The visit was held on the invitation of the European People’s Party.

It is supposed that the new coalition is to participate in the two nearest electoral campaigns by creating a single list of parliamentary candidates in the elections – 2016, and nomination of a single candidate in the elections – 2020.

Representatives of these structures do not confirm the fact of signing the declaration on forming the coalition. At the same time, they do not deny that the centre-right organisations are discussing joint plans of action.
