Minskers Called To “March Of Students” December 2

The march is to be held in front of the building of administration of the Belarusian State University, where students invite all people who are not indifferent to the future of students.

Information on the event was made available on the VKontakte group “March of Students”, charter97.org. site reports.

“Students, teachers, applicants, parents and all who care about our education!

Join us in the “March of Students” at 11:50a.m. on Wednesday, December 2! The march is our chance to let the administration of Belarusian universities and the Ministry of Education know that we demand real reforms in higher education rather than attempts to cover up their failures with “exactions and fines”.

We stand for the full and equal participation in the university management of the three parties: the administration, teachers and students. We demand to take into account the opinion of students and their parents. We demand a real self-government of students, as well as holding reforms in the education sector. Join us, together we make things happen!” – the statement says.

We remind that earlier it was reported that retaking of all tests and examinations at the BSU will be paid for since January 1, 2016.

Students of the main university of the country have gathered 2.5 thousand signatures in protest at submitting payment for retaking tests and examinations. Nevertheless, the university administration signed the law.

Later it was reported that students will have to pay for the absences from university as well, even if they had been absent for a valid reason.
