Polish Magazine Published Svetlana Alexievich’s Portrait And White-Red-White Flag On Cover

The 19th edition of the Polish literary quarterly Książki. Magazyn do czytania (Books. Magazine For Reading) is dedicated to the Nobel prize winner from Belarus Sviatlana Alexievich.

Książki. Magazyn do czytania magazine is published in Poland regularly since September 1, 2011. The first pilot issue was published on June 14, 2011 and was dedicated to an educator and writer Janusz Korczak.

Charter97.org has learnt about making the interview with Svetlana Alexievich, who has brought fame to Belarus by the first Nobel prize, the main topic of the magazine, from the version of the magazine for social networks.

“It’s no secret to say that we start every issue from creating the cover – as it’s our free pass to the reader. When the Swedish Academy announced its decision in October, we immediately paid attention to the new laureate Svetlana Alexievich. And when we received the ready interview with the writer, the first detailed interview after she received the Nobel Prize, there were no doubts who would be on the cover,” – the editor-in-chief Łukasz Grzymisławski writes in the foreword.
