The top ballot-rigger of Belarus gets pay rise.

Lidziya Yarmoshyna received the highest class of a public servant. A decree on that has been signed by Aliaksandr Lukashenka. The document was published on the National legal web portal on November 25. In a conversation with Radio Svaboda the chairperson of the CEC said that thanks to the higher rank she is to receive “about a million more” every month.

The official also said that she is going to make use of the freezing of the EU sanctions, and she has already applied for a visa: “If everything goes right, I want to go to Rome on December 14. Just to look at Eternal City.”

Meanwhile, unlike the majority of Belarusians, who do not risk celebrating Christmas and the New Year in Europe after the terrorist attacks in Paris, Yarmoshyna is not stopped by the terrorist threat: “One should sit at home going nowhere, if you fear that, to sit like a mouse under a broom,” – she is convinced.

Lidziya Yarmoshyna was appointed the chairperson of the Central Election Commission by Lukashenka after the so-called referendum in November 1996. Before that, in violation of the Constitution, Lukashenka dismissed the chairman of the CEC Viktar Hanchar by his decree.
