Vital Rymasheuski: Trial For Books With Photos – That’s Real Extremism

The ban on Zianon Pazniak’s books is another manifestation of Belarusian “liberalization.”

A co-chairman of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democratic party Vital Rymasheuski has commented on the administrative case initiated against the executive secretary of the Conservative Christian Party – the Belarusian Popular Front Aliaksandr Chakholski for storage and distribution of Zianon Pazniak’s books The Good Photographs and The Defence Of Kurapaty. Peoples’ Memorial, which had been recognized as extremist materials.

That is informed by the website of the organizing committee for registration of the BCD.

According to Vital Rymasheuski, this is another manifestation of Belarusian “liberalization”.

“To bring someone to court for books with the author’s photographs is real extremism,” – Vital Rymasheuski stressed.

We remind that in September Zianon Pazniak’s books were seized from the executive secretary of the Conservative Christian Party – the Belarusian Popular Front Aliaksandr Chakholski at the customs office Brest Tsentralny on the border with Poland. On November 26 Ales Chakholski is summoned to the Frunzenski district court of Minsk, where his administrative case over dissemination of extremist literature is to be heard.
