The building of former Catholic Chapel, Uritskogo Str. in Vitebsk, of 1859 year, will be demolished because of no Br2 billion for its reconstruction.

Tatsiana Seviarynets, activist of the Organizing Committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, received such reply from Vitsebsk City Executive Committee. The press service of the Organizing Committee informed charter97.org.

"The building, Uritskogo Str. 25, in the Botanic garden is not in the State list of historical and cultural heritage of Belarus, the document says. - An owner says that above ground load-bearing structures of a two-storey building and their structure have been examined. Technical report says that it is labeled as an accident-prone building and its above ground load-bearing structures are subject to replacement. Repair and installation works require Br2 billion. The owner has decided to demolish the building because of no money."

At that, design and estimate documentation only requires Br22 million without mentioning demolition works. However, tender for such documentation launched on September 29 is still up in the air - icetrade.by has not announced results yet. Popular News in Vitsebsk report.
